What is it used for?
This combination is used to help reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and other serious problems caused by blood clots and high cholesterol, usually in people with established heart or blood-vessel disease. It should be used only when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Clopidogrel and aspirin reduce the ability of platelets to stick together and form harmful blood clots. Rosuvastatin lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol and helps protect blood vessels.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day, with or without food unless advised otherwise. Swallow the medicine as directed. Do not stop it without medical advice, as stopping the antiplatelet medicines may increase the risk of a clot.

Common side effects
Easy bruising or bleeding, nosebleeds, indigestion, stomach discomfort, headache, and muscle aches may occur. Seek medical help for heavy or unusual bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, severe muscle pain, or dark urine.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about any history of stomach ulcers, bleeding disorders, liver or kidney disease, or muscle problems. Inform the doctor or dentist before surgery or dental treatment. Avoid starting painkillers or other medicines, including blood thinners, without medical advice. Report pregnancy or planned pregnancy promptly; rosuvastatin is generally not used during pregnancy. Seek advice if taking other medicines because this combination can increase bleeding risk.
