What is it used for?
Used as regular maintenance treatment to control asthma symptoms and prevent wheezing and breathing difficulty. It may also be prescribed for long-term control of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It is not intended to provide immediate relief during a sudden breathing attack.

How does it work?
Fluticasone reduces swelling and inflammation in the airways. Salmeterol relaxes the airway muscles for prolonged bronchodilation, helping keep the airways open.

How to take/use it
Use by inhalation through the mouth exactly as prescribed, using the inhaler correctly. Use it regularly even when breathing is normal. Do not use it for sudden breathing difficulty; use the prescribed reliever inhaler instead. Rinse the mouth and spit out the water after each use.

Common side effects
Hoarseness, throat irritation, headache, oral thrush, tremor, muscle cramps, or awareness of a fast heartbeat may occur.

Precautions
This medicine does not replace a quick-relief inhaler for sudden asthma symptoms. Seek urgent medical help if breathing suddenly worsens or the reliever inhaler is not effective. Do not stop regular treatment without medical advice. Tell the doctor about heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, thyroid problems, glaucoma, osteoporosis, or current infections. Report persistent white patches or soreness in the mouth, severe palpitations, or worsening breathing.
