What is it used for?
Serratiopeptidase is used as an add-on treatment to help reduce swelling and inflammation associated with injuries, surgery, and some muscle or joint conditions. It is not a painkiller and should be used only as advised by a healthcare professional.

How does it work?
It is a protein-breaking enzyme that may help break down substances involved in inflammatory swelling and tissue fluid accumulation.

How to take/use it
Swallow the tablet whole with water, exactly as prescribed. Do not change the dose or treatment duration without medical advice. If advised to take it away from meals, follow those instructions.

Common side effects
Nausea, stomach upset, diarrhoea, and skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Inform the doctor about bleeding or clotting problems, stomach ulcers, or use of blood-thinning medicines such as warfarin, aspirin, or clopidogrel.
