What is it used for?
Used in adult men to relieve urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia), such as difficulty starting urination, weak urine flow, frequent urination and incomplete bladder emptying.

How does it work?
Silodosin relaxes the muscles around the prostate and bladder outlet to improve urine flow. Dutasteride reduces the hormone that contributes to prostate growth and may gradually shrink the prostate.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed. Follow the product label regarding food and timing, and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Swallow the capsule whole; do not crush or chew it. Treatment may need to continue regularly for the desired benefit.

Common side effects
Dizziness, low blood pressure on standing, headache, reduced sex drive, erectile difficulties and ejaculation problems, including little or no semen released. Breast tenderness or enlargement may also occur.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision, especially with kidney or liver problems or a history of low blood pressure. Rise slowly to reduce dizziness and falls. Tell the doctor about all medicines, particularly blood-pressure medicines, erectile-dysfunction medicines and other prostate medicines. Inform the eye surgeon before cataract surgery. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should not handle leaking or broken capsules. Dutasteride can affect prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test results, so inform the doctor before testing.
