Description:

Silospeed 4 contains Silodosin, a highly selective α₁A-adrenergic receptor antagonist. It acts by relaxing the smooth muscle in the bladder neck and prostate, thereby improving urine flow and reducing lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

The 4 mg dose provides a lower starting strength, often used in patients who are elderly, have mild renal impairment, or experience intolerance to the higher (8 mg) dose.

Warnings & Precautions:

May cause postural (orthostatic) hypotension — caution advised during initiation, especially in elderly or patients on antihypertensives.

Retrograde ejaculation (reversible on discontinuation) is common due to its prostate-selective action.

Caution in patients with renal or hepatic dysfunction — monitor periodically.

Advise patients to rise slowly from sitting or lying positions to avoid dizziness.

Discontinue if signs of hypersensitivity or severe dizziness occur.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Dizziness, nasal congestion, retrograde ejaculation, diarrhea.

Occasional: Headache, orthostatic hypotension, fatigue.

Rare: Syncope, hypersensitivity reactions, liver enzyme elevation.
