Sitaglip 50 Tabs (20X7) Sitagliptin 50Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Sitagliptin is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It may be used alone or together with other diabetes medicines. It is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

How does it work?
It blocks an enzyme called DPP-4, which helps increase insulin release after meals and reduce the liver’s release of glucose. This helps lower blood sugar, mainly when it is high.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. The dose may need adjustment in kidney problems.

Common side effects
Headache, runny or blocked nose, sore throat, nausea and stomach discomfort may occur. Low blood sugar is more likely when used with insulin or certain other diabetes medicines.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney disease, previous pancreatitis, heart failure or allergies to diabetes medicines. Seek medical help for severe or persistent abdominal pain, swelling of the face or throat, breathing difficulty, blistering rash, or severe joint pain. Monitor blood sugar as advised and follow the prescribed diet and exercise plan.
