Spralactone F Tabs (20X10) Frusemide 20Mg + Spironolactone 50Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Frusemide 20 mg + Spironolactone 50 mg is used on prescription to remove excess fluid from the body and reduce swelling (oedema). It may be used for fluid retention related to heart failure, liver disease or certain kidney conditions.

How does it work?
Frusemide and spironolactone are diuretics, also called water tablets. They help the kidneys remove extra salt and water in urine; spironolactone also helps reduce potassium loss caused by some diuretics.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, with water. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Because it increases urination, follow the timing advised by the prescriber. Regular blood tests may be needed to check kidney function and salt and potassium levels.

Common side effects
Increased urination, dizziness, low blood pressure, dehydration, weakness, nausea and stomach upset. Spironolactone may cause breast tenderness or enlargement. Changes in potassium or other body salts can also occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, low blood pressure, dehydration or high potassium levels. Do not take potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes unless advised. Seek medical advice for severe dizziness, fainting, very low urine output, unusual weakness, muscle cramps or an irregular heartbeat. This medicine may interact with several medicines, including some blood-pressure medicines and painkillers, so provide a complete list of medicines being taken.
