What is it used for?
Sucralfate is mainly used to treat and help heal ulcers in the stomach and duodenum. It protects the damaged area from stomach acid and digestive enzymes.

How does it work?
It forms a protective coating over ulcers and irritated areas of the stomach or intestine. This barrier helps protect them while they heal.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, usually on an empty stomach. Follow the product label or doctor’s instructions, and take other medicines at a different time if advised, as sucralfate can affect their absorption. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Constipation, dry mouth, nausea, indigestion, or stomach discomfort.

Precautions
