What is it used for?
Tamsulosin is used to relieve urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate, such as difficulty starting urination, weak or interrupted urine flow, frequent urination, and an urgent need to urinate.

How does it work?
It relaxes the muscles around the prostate and the opening of the bladder. This helps urine flow more easily.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed. Swallow the capsule whole with water and do not crush or chew it. Take it consistently as directed by the doctor. Do not stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, runny or blocked nose, weakness, and changes in ejaculation may occur.

Precautions
It may cause dizziness or a drop in blood pressure, especially when standing up; rise slowly and avoid driving if affected. Inform the doctor before cataract or glaucoma surgery, as this medicine can affect the eye during surgery. Tell the doctor about any allergy, severe dizziness, or fainting. Seek medical help for a prolonged or painful erection.
