What is it used for?
Used in adult men to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia, or BPH), such as difficulty starting urination, weak urine flow, frequent urination and incomplete bladder emptying.

How does it work?
Tamsulosin relaxes the muscles around the prostate and bladder outlet to improve urine flow. Dutasteride lowers the hormone that contributes to prostate growth and may gradually reduce prostate size.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew it. Do not stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Dizziness, reduced sex drive, difficulty getting or maintaining an erection, ejaculation problems or reduced semen, and breast tenderness or enlargement.

Precautions
This medicine may cause dizziness or a drop in blood pressure when standing; rise slowly and avoid driving if affected. Tell the doctor before cataract surgery. Dutasteride can reduce PSA blood-test results, so inform healthcare professionals that it is being taken. Pregnant women or women who may become pregnant should not handle leaking capsules. Seek medical advice for severe allergy, fainting, or inability to pass urine.
