Tecotech-200 (10Ml) Teicoplanin 200 Mg By Protech

What is it used for?
Teicoplanin is an antibiotic used to treat serious bacterial infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria, including infections of the skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, lungs, blood, and heart valves. It may also be used when infections are caused by bacteria such as MRSA, as decided by a doctor.

How does it work?
It stops susceptible bacteria from building their protective cell wall, which kills the bacteria or prevents them from multiplying.

How to take/use it
Teicoplanin is given as an injection or infusion by a doctor or nurse, usually in a hospital or clinic. The dose and treatment duration depend on the type and severity of infection, kidney function, and response to treatment. Complete the prescribed course and do not self-administer it.

Common side effects
Pain, redness or swelling at the injection site; rash or itching; nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea; and headache. Changes in blood tests may also occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney disease, hearing problems, or previous allergy to teicoplanin, vancomycin or similar antibiotics. Kidney function, blood counts, liver function and sometimes hearing may need monitoring, especially during prolonged treatment or in people with kidney problems. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling, severe rash, hearing changes, or severe or persistent diarrhoea.
