What is it used for?
This medicine is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure helps reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.

How does it work?
Telmisartan blocks the action of a substance that tightens blood vessels. Amlodipine relaxes and widens the blood vessels, helping blood flow more easily and lowering blood pressure.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably at the same time each day. It may be taken with or without food. Do not stop taking it or change the dose without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, tiredness, flushing, palpitations, and swelling of the ankles or feet may occur.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision during pregnancy; telmisartan can harm the unborn baby. Inform the doctor about kidney or liver disease, low blood pressure, dehydration, or heart problems. Do not use potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes unless advised by a doctor. Blood pressure, kidney function, and potassium levels may need monitoring. Avoid driving if dizzy.
