Telmis Am Tabs (40/5Mg) (20X15) Telemisartan 40 Mg + Amlodipine 5 Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
This combination is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Controlling blood pressure helps reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke and other blood vessel problems.

How does it work?
Telmisartan relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking the action of a hormone that raises blood pressure. Amlodipine also relaxes blood vessels, helping the heart pump blood more easily and lowering blood pressure.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow with water. Do not stop treatment or take an extra dose without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Dizziness, headache, tiredness, flushing, low blood pressure, ankle or leg swelling, and palpitations may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is kidney or liver disease, dehydration, low blood pressure, high potassium levels, or heart problems. Avoid potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes unless advised. The medicine should not be used during pregnancy; inform the doctor immediately if pregnancy occurs. Rise slowly if dizzy, and seek urgent help for swelling of the face, lips or throat or difficulty breathing.
