What is it used for?
Telmisartan 40 mg + Bisoprolol 5 mg is used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension). It may be prescribed when one medicine alone does not control blood pressure adequately.

How does it work?
Telmisartan relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking the action of a hormone that raises blood pressure. Bisoprolol slows the heart rate and reduces the heart's workload, helping to lower blood pressure.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet with water. Do not stop it suddenly or change the dose without medical advice. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Dizziness, tiredness, headache, low blood pressure, slow heartbeat, cold hands or feet, nausea, and diarrhoea may occur. Contact a doctor if these are severe or persistent.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney or liver disease, a slow heartbeat, low blood pressure, asthma or other breathing problems, diabetes, or dehydration. Avoid potassium supplements or potassium-containing salt substitutes unless advised by a doctor. Telmisartan should not be used during pregnancy; seek medical advice promptly if pregnancy occurs. Do not stop treatment suddenly, as this may worsen heart-related symptoms. Rise slowly if dizzy and avoid driving until the effects are known.
