Description:

Telmistrong-H is a fixed-dose combination antihypertensive medication containing Telmisartan, an Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB), and Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), a thiazide diuretic.
This dual mechanism helps in lowering elevated blood pressure by:

Telmisartan: Blocking the vasoconstrictor effects of angiotensin II, leading to vasodilation and reduced vascular resistance.

Hydrochlorothiazide: Promoting sodium and water excretion, thereby reducing plasma volume and blood pressure.

The combination provides additive antihypertensive effects and helps achieve target blood pressure in patients not adequately controlled with monotherapy.

Warnings & Precautions:

Monitor blood pressure, renal function, and electrolytes regularly.

Risk of hypotension in volume-depleted patients (e.g., on diuretics, low-salt diet).

Electrolyte imbalance (especially hypokalemia, hyponatremia) may occur due to HCTZ.

Telmisartan may cause renal function deterioration in susceptible individuals.

Avoid concomitant use with aliskiren in diabetic or renal-impaired patients.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Dizziness, fatigue, headache, hypotension

Less common: Nausea, muscle cramps, back pain, electrolyte disturbances

Rare: Hepatic dysfunction, photosensitivity, hyperuricemia, or gout
