What is it used for?
Teneligliptin + Metformin SR is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

How does it work?
Teneligliptin helps the body release more insulin after meals and reduces the release of hormones that raise blood sugar. Metformin reduces sugar production by the liver and helps the body use insulin better.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, preferably with food. Swallow the sustained-release tablet whole; do not crush, chew or split it. Do not stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, indigestion, loss of appetite, headache and a metallic taste may occur. Low blood sugar is possible, especially when used with other diabetes medicines.

Precautions
Inform the doctor about kidney or liver disease, heart failure, heavy alcohol use, or a history of pancreatitis. Seek medical help for severe or persistent abdominal pain, breathing difficulty, unusual weakness or severe vomiting. Kidney function may need monitoring, and metformin may require temporary interruption around some contrast-dye tests. Tell the doctor about all medicines being taken and during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
