Description:

Tenelicoz 20 contains Teneligliptin, a Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor used for the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM).
It works by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, which increases the levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP). These hormones help enhance insulin secretion, suppress glucagon release, and improve glycemic control without causing significant hypoglycemia or weight gain.

Dosage & Administration:

Usual adult dose: 20 mg once daily, orally.

May be administered with or without food.

No dose adjustment required in mild-to-moderate renal or hepatic impairment, but caution is advised.

Dosage should be individualized based on the patient’s clinical response and tolerability.

Warnings & Precautions:

Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic dysfunction.

Monitor blood glucose and HbA1c regularly.

Risk of hypoglycemia may increase when combined with sulfonylureas or insulin.

Discontinue if signs of pancreatitis (e.g., persistent abdominal pain) occur.Not recommended in Type 1 diabetes or children under 18 years.

Adverse Effects:

Common: Headache, nasopharyngitis, dizziness

Less common: Hypoglycemia (with combination therapy), constipation, mild gastrointestinal upset

Rare: Pancreatitis, allergic skin reactions, hepatic enzyme elevation

Drug Interactions:

Sulfonylureas / Insulin: May enhance hypoglycemic effect

Other antidiabetic agents: Additive glucose-lowering effect

No significant interactions with metformin, pioglitazone, or digoxin
