What is it used for?
Used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when prescribed by a doctor.

How does it work?
Teneligliptin helps the body release more insulin after meals and reduces the release of glucagon, helping lower blood sugar. Metformin reduces sugar production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, preferably with food, to reduce stomach upset. Swallow the tablet whole and do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, indigestion, reduced appetite, headache, and a metallic taste. Low blood sugar is more likely when used with insulin or certain other diabetes medicines.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about kidney or liver problems, heavy alcohol use, heart failure, or a history of pancreatitis. Kidney function may need monitoring, and metformin may need to be stopped temporarily before some procedures or contrast-dye scans. Seek urgent medical help for severe weakness, breathing difficulty, persistent vomiting, or severe abdominal pain. This medicine is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
