Torseflux - 5 Tablet (Torsemide 5 mg)

Composition

Each uncoated tablet contains:
Torsemide 5 mg
Excipients: q.s.

Therapeutic Category

Loop diuretic / Antihypertensive.

Dosage & Administration

Route: Oral administration.

Dose should be individualized based on response and renal function.

Administer in the morning to avoid nocturnal diuresis.

 Warnings & Precautions

Electrolyte imbalance: may cause hypokalaemia, hyponatraemia, hypomagnesaemia — monitor periodically.

Hypotension: particularly in volume-depleted or elderly patients.

Renal impairment: monitor renal function; avoid excessive diuresis.

Gout: may increase serum uric acid levels.

Ototoxicity: rare; risk increases with concomitant ototoxic drugs (e.g., aminoglycosides).

Diabetes: may cause mild hyperglycaemia — monitor blood glucose.

 Adverse Effects

Common: Dizziness, headache, dehydration, hypotension, hypokalaemia, hyponatraemia.

Less common: Muscle cramps, fatigue, hyperuricaemia, hyperglycaemia.

Rare: Hypovolaemia, rash, hearing disturbances (at very high doses).

 Use in Special Populations

Pregnancy: Category C — use only if potential benefit outweighs risk.

Lactation: Not recommended (unknown if excreted in breast milk).

Elderly: Use cautiously; monitor renal function and electrolytes

.Pediatrics: Safety and efficacy not established.

Overdosage

May cause excessive diuresis, dehydration, hypotension, electrolyte imbalance.
Treatment: supportive; restore fluid and electrolyte balance.

Storage

Store below 25°C, in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.
