What is it used for?
This combination helps remove excess fluid from the body and is commonly used for swelling or fluid buildup related to heart, liver, or kidney conditions. It may also be prescribed to help control high blood pressure.

How does it work?
Torsemide helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water through urine. Spironolactone also removes excess fluid while helping reduce the loss of potassium.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the same time each day. It may increase urination, so follow the prescriber's instructions about timing. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Increased urination, dizziness, low blood pressure, dehydration, nausea, weakness, headache, and changes in blood potassium or sodium levels. Spironolactone may cause breast tenderness or enlargement.

Precautions
Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and blood electrolytes may be needed. Use only under medical supervision if there is kidney disease, liver disease, dehydration, or low blood pressure. Avoid potassium supplements and potassium-containing salt substitutes unless specifically advised. Seek medical help for severe weakness, confusion, fainting, irregular heartbeat, or very little urination.
