What is it used for?
Used to reduce heavy menstrual bleeding and relieve period pain or cramps.

How does it work?
Tranexamic acid helps reduce bleeding by stabilising blood clots. Mefenamic acid reduces the substances that cause pain, inflammation and menstrual cramps, and may also help reduce menstrual bleeding.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow with water, preferably with or after food, and do not exceed the prescribed amount. Do not use it for longer than advised.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain or indigestion, headache and dizziness.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about a history of blood clots, kidney disease, stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding, asthma triggered by painkillers, or allergy to NSAID medicines. Avoid taking other NSAID painkillers unless advised. Seek urgent medical help for chest pain, breathlessness, sudden leg swelling or pain, vision changes, severe rash, or black stools. This medicine may not be suitable during pregnancy, especially late pregnancy, unless prescribed.
