Trojan 5 Tabs (20X1X10) Linagliptin -5Mg by Elder

What is it used for?
Linagliptin 5 mg is used to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes, along with a suitable diet and exercise. It may be used alone or with other diabetes medicines.

How does it work?
It blocks an enzyme called DPP-4, which helps the body release more insulin after meals and reduce excess glucagon. This helps lower blood sugar levels.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. It may be taken with or without food. Swallow the tablet whole. Do not take an extra dose if a dose is missed; follow the doctor’s instructions.

Common side effects
Nasopharyngitis (runny or blocked nose and sore throat), cough, diarrhoea, headache and low blood sugar, especially when used with insulin or certain other diabetes medicines.

Precautions
Not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Tell the doctor about any previous pancreatitis, allergies to linagliptin, or severe kidney or liver problems. Seek medical advice for severe, persistent abdominal pain, serious allergic symptoms, severe joint pain or blistering skin. Low blood sugar may occur when used with insulin or sulfonylureas; the doctor may need to adjust those medicines.
