What is it used for?
This medicine is used to relieve constipation and make hard stools easier to pass.

How does it work?
Liquid paraffin softens and lubricates the stool. Milk of magnesia draws water into the bowel, while sodium picosulfate stimulates bowel movements.

How to take/use it
Take by mouth exactly as directed on the label or by the doctor. Measure the liquid carefully and drink enough fluids unless fluid restriction has been advised. Do not use it for longer than recommended.

Common side effects
Abdominal cramps, bloating, nausea, loose stools or diarrhoea may occur. Excessive use can cause dehydration and changes in body salts.

Precautions
Do not use without medical advice for severe or unexplained abdominal pain, vomiting, or suspected bowel blockage. Avoid prolonged or frequent use. Seek medical advice if constipation does not improve or if rectal bleeding occurs. Children, older adults, and people with kidney problems or dehydration should use it only on medical advice.
