What is it used for?
Cefixime 200 mg + Clavulanic Acid 125 mg is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections, such as some infections of the throat, ears, lungs, urinary tract or skin, when prescribed by a doctor. It does not work for colds, flu or other viral infections.

How does it work?
Cefixime stops susceptible bacteria from forming their protective cell wall. Clavulanic acid blocks certain bacterial enzymes that can make antibiotics ineffective, helping cefixime work against resistant bacteria.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, at the recommended times, and complete the full course even if symptoms improve. Do not share it or use leftover antibiotics. If a dose is missed, follow the instructions provided by the doctor or pharmacist.

Common side effects
Diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, indigestion, headache and skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Do not take it if there has been a serious allergy to cefixime, other cephalosporins, penicillins or related antibiotics. Inform the doctor about kidney disease, previous antibiotic-associated severe diarrhoea, pregnancy or breastfeeding. Seek urgent medical help for breathing difficulty, facial swelling or a severe rash. Contact a doctor for severe, persistent or bloody diarrhoea.
