What is it used for?
Cefixime + Ofloxacin is used to treat certain bacterial infections when prescribed by a doctor. It does not work for viral infections such as the common cold or flu.

How does it work?
Cefixime damages the bacterial cell wall, while Ofloxacin prevents bacteria from multiplying by interfering with their DNA. Together, they help stop the growth of susceptible bacteria.

How to take/use it
Take it only as prescribed and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve. Swallow with water and do not take it with antacids or mineral supplements containing aluminium, magnesium, iron, calcium or zinc at the same time; follow the prescribed spacing instructions. Do not share or reuse leftover antibiotics.

Common side effects
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, indigestion, headache and dizziness may occur. Seek medical help for severe or persistent diarrhoea, rash, breathing difficulty, tendon pain or swelling, numbness, tingling or unusual mental or nerve-related symptoms.

Precautions
Inform the doctor about allergies to cephalosporins, penicillins or quinolone antibiotics, kidney disease, seizures, tendon problems, heart rhythm problems or myasthenia gravis. Tell the doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding. Avoid driving or operating machinery if dizzy. Use only under medical supervision, especially in children and older adults.
