What is it used for?
Betahistine is used to reduce vertigo (a spinning sensation) associated with Ménière’s disease. It may also help relieve related symptoms such as ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and hearing difficulty.

How does it work?
It acts on histamine receptors and is thought to improve blood flow and pressure regulation in the inner ear, helping reduce vertigo symptoms.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed and swallow the tablet with water. Taking it with or after food may help reduce stomach upset. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Headache, nausea, indigestion, stomach discomfort or bloating.

Precautions
Do not use it if allergic to betahistine or if diagnosed with pheochromocytoma, unless specifically advised by a doctor. Tell the doctor if there is asthma or a history of stomach ulcers. Seek medical advice if symptoms worsen or new hearing problems occur.
