What is it used for?
Betahistine is mainly used to help relieve symptoms of Ménière’s disease and other inner-ear balance problems, including episodes of vertigo (spinning sensation), ringing in the ears and sometimes hearing difficulty.

How does it work?
It acts on histamine receptors and may help improve blood flow and pressure regulation in the inner ear, reducing balance-related symptoms.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Swallow the tablet with water, preferably with or after food if it causes stomach discomfort. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Nausea, indigestion, stomach discomfort, bloating and headache. These are often mild and may improve when taken with food.

Precautions
Tell the doctor if there is asthma, a current or past stomach ulcer, or pheochromocytoma. Avoid use if allergic to betahistine or any of its ingredients. Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Seek urgent medical help for signs of a serious allergic reaction, such as swelling of the face or difficulty breathing.
