What is it used for?
Sildenafil 100 mg is used to treat erectile dysfunction (difficulty getting or keeping an erection firm enough for sexual activity) in adult men.

How does it work?
It helps relax the blood vessels in the penis and increases blood flow during sexual stimulation, making an erection easier to achieve and maintain. It does not cause an erection without sexual stimulation.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, usually before sexual activity. Do not take more than one dose in 24 hours. It may work more slowly after a heavy or high-fat meal. Do not use it with other erectile dysfunction medicines unless advised by a doctor.

Common side effects
Headache, facial flushing, indigestion, blocked nose, dizziness and visual changes such as blurred or altered colour vision.

Precautions
Do not take sildenafil with nitrate medicines for chest pain or with riociguat, as this can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure. Seek medical advice before use if there is heart disease, low blood pressure, recent stroke or heart attack, or if taking alpha-blockers. Seek urgent medical help for an erection lasting more than 4 hours, sudden vision or hearing loss, chest pain, or severe dizziness. Avoid excessive alcohol.
