Composition

Each film-coated sustained-release tablet contains:
Vildagliptin 100 mg (as sustained release formulation)
Excipients: q.s.

Warnings & Precautions

Liver monitoring: Check hepatic transaminases before initiation and periodically thereafter; discontinue if persistent elevation.

Renal monitoring: Adjust dose in renal impairment; avoid in severe renal dysfunction.

Pancreatitis: Discontinue if pancreatitis is suspected.

Hypoglycaemia: Rare in monotherapy; may occur when used with insulin or sulfonylureas.

Cardiac failure: Use with caution in patients with NYHA class I–III heart failure.

Adverse Effects

Common: Headache, dizziness, fatigue, mild gastrointestinal discomfort.

Occasional: Hypoglycaemia (especially in combination therapy), tremor.

Rare: Elevated liver enzymes, angioedema, rash, peripheral oedema, pancreatitis.

Use in Special Populations

Pregnancy: Use only if potential benefit outweighs risk; limited data.

Lactation: Not recommended; unknown if excreted in breast milk.

Elderly: Use with caution; monitor renal and hepatic function.

Pediatrics: Safety and efficacy not established below 18 years.

Storage

Store below 25°C, in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.
