Vildavista 50 Tablet (Vildagliptin 50 mg)

Composition

Each film-coated tablet contains:
Vildagliptin 50 mg (active ingredient)

 Dosage & Administration

Recommended dose: 50 mg once or twice daily depending on regimen.

Monotherapy or with metformin: 50 mg twice daily.

With sulfonylurea: 50 mg once daily (usually in the morning).Take orally with or without food.Dose adjustment is required in renal impairment.

Maximum daily dose: 100 mg.
Not recommended: for patients with hepatic impairment.

Warnings & Precautions

Liver function: monitor transaminase (ALT, AST) periodically; discontinue if persistent elevation occurs.

Renal function: assess before starting and periodically thereafter.

Pancreatitis: discontinue if symptoms (persistent abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting) occur.

Use cautiously with other hypoglycaemics due to risk of low blood sugar.

Not a substitute for insulin in insulin-dependent patients.

Adverse Effects

Headache, dizziness, fatigue.

Mild hypoglycaemia (especially when used with sulfonylurea or insulin).

Gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea.

Rare: hepatic enzyme elevations, peripheral oedema, rash, pancreatitis.

Use in Special Populations

Pregnancy & lactation: insufficient human data — use only if potential benefit outweighs risk.

Renal impairment: adjust dose or avoid if severe (GFR < 30 mL/min).

Elderly: use with caution; start at lower end of dosing range.

Storage

Store below 25°C, in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.
Keep out of reach of children.
