What is it used for?
Used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes when one medicine alone is not enough. It is not used to treat type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.

How does it work?
Glimepiride helps the pancreas release insulin, while metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin. Voglibose slows the breakdown and absorption of carbohydrates, helping reduce the rise in blood sugar after meals.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, usually with or just before meals. Do not skip meals, change the dose, or stop treatment without medical advice. Monitor blood sugar as recommended. If a dose is missed, follow the prescriber's instructions and do not take an extra dose unless advised.

Common side effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, gas, bloating, and loss of appetite may occur. Low blood sugar can cause sweating, shaking, dizziness, hunger, or weakness.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision, especially if there is kidney or liver disease, heavy alcohol use, heart failure, or a history of low blood sugar. Seek urgent medical help for severe or persistent weakness, vomiting, breathing difficulty, unusual sleepiness, or symptoms of very low blood sugar. Tell the doctor before surgery, medical procedures involving contrast dye, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Avoid alcohol unless the doctor advises that it is safe.
