What is it used for?
Voglibose is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes, especially the rise in blood sugar after meals.

How does it work?
It slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine. This helps reduce the increase in blood sugar after eating.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, usually immediately before a meal. Follow the prescribed dose and timing, and do not change or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Gas, bloating, abdominal discomfort, loose stools or diarrhoea, and nausea may occur.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision if there is kidney or liver disease, or a history of intestinal or digestive problems. Low blood sugar may occur when voglibose is used with insulin or other diabetes medicines. Seek medical advice for severe or persistent abdominal pain, vomiting, or diarrhoea.
