What is it used for?
This medicine is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It helps reduce blood glucose levels and improve diabetes control.

How does it work?
Glimepiride helps the pancreas release more insulin. Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin, while voglibose slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates after meals.

How to take/use it
Take it exactly as prescribed, usually with food. Swallow the sustained-release tablet whole; do not crush or chew it. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice. Follow the recommended diet, exercise plan and blood-glucose monitoring schedule.

Common side effects
Low blood sugar, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, gas, bloating and loss of appetite. Low blood sugar may cause sweating, shaking, dizziness, hunger or weakness.

Precautions
Use only under medical supervision, especially if there is kidney or liver disease, heart failure, heavy alcohol use or a history of severe low blood sugar. Avoid skipping meals, as this may increase the risk of low blood sugar. Seek urgent medical help for severe or persistent weakness, breathing difficulty, unusual sleepiness or severe abdominal symptoms. Tell the doctor before surgery, certain scans using contrast dye, or if pregnant or breastfeeding.
