What is it used for?
Used along with a healthy diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

How does it work?
Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin. Voglibose slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates, helping reduce the rise in blood sugar after meals.

How to take/use it
Take exactly as prescribed, usually with meals, to reduce stomach upset. Take it regularly and do not stop it without medical advice. Follow the prescribed diet, exercise plan and blood sugar monitoring.

Common side effects
Nausea, diarrhoea, stomach pain or discomfort, bloating and gas. Low blood sugar may occur, especially when used with other diabetes medicines.

Precautions
Inform the doctor about kidney or liver problems, heavy alcohol use, dehydration, or serious infection. Kidney function should be checked during treatment. Medical advice may be needed before surgery or certain scans using contrast dye. Seek urgent help for severe weakness, breathing difficulty, persistent vomiting, unusual sleepiness or severe stomach discomfort. Tell the doctor if pregnant or breastfeeding.
