What is it used for?
Used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.

How does it work?
Metformin reduces glucose production by the liver and improves the body's response to insulin. Glimepiride helps the pancreas release insulin, while voglibose slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates after meals.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed, usually with meals. Swallow the sustained-release tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew it. Follow the prescribed meal plan and monitor blood sugar as advised.

Common side effects
Low blood sugar, nausea, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort, indigestion, gas and loss of appetite. Low blood sugar may cause sweating, shakiness, dizziness or weakness.

Precautions
Do not skip meals after taking this medicine, and keep a quick source of sugar available if advised. Use cautiously in kidney or liver problems, or if consuming alcohol; medical monitoring may be needed. Inform the doctor about all medicines being taken and before surgery or certain contrast-dye tests. Seek medical help for severe weakness, breathing difficulty, persistent vomiting or unusual drowsiness. This medicine should be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.
