What is it used for?
Voglibose is used with diet and exercise to help control high blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes, especially the rise in blood sugar after meals.

How does it work?
It slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine. This helps reduce the increase in blood sugar after eating.

How to take/use it
Take it just before meals, exactly as prescribed. Follow the recommended diet and blood sugar monitoring plan. Do not change the dose or stop treatment without medical advice.

Common side effects
Gas, bloating, abdominal discomfort or pain, diarrhoea, and constipation.

Precautions
Use only under medical advice if there is kidney or liver disease, digestive or intestinal disease, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Low blood sugar may occur when used with insulin or other diabetes medicines; seek medical advice if symptoms such as sweating, shakiness, dizziness, or confusion occur. Report severe abdominal pain or persistent diarrhoea.
