## Composition
Voglibose 0.3 mg.
## Uses
Voglibose is an oral antidiabetic medicine used to help control post-meal blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. It slows the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the intestine, thereby reducing the rise in blood glucose after meals.
## How to Use
Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor, usually immediately before or with the first bite of a meal. Swallow the tablet with water. Take it regularly and do not change the dose without medical advice.
## Precautions & Warnings
Tell your doctor if you have significant kidney or liver disease, intestinal obstruction, inflammatory bowel disease, or other serious digestive problems. Voglibose alone generally has a low risk of hypoglycaemia, but low blood sugar can occur when it is combined with insulin or other antidiabetic medicines.
If hypoglycaemia occurs while using voglibose with another diabetes medicine, use glucose/dextrose rather than ordinary table sugar (sucrose) for rapid correction.
## Possible Side Effects
Common side effects include:
- Gas and bloating
- Abdominal discomfort or pain
- Diarrhoea
- Constipation
- Nausea
These digestive effects may lessen with continued treatment. Seek medical attention for severe or persistent abdominal pain, repeated vomiting, or symptoms suggesting intestinal obstruction.
## Pregnancy & Breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using voglibose. Your doctor will determine the most appropriate diabetes treatment.
## Storage
Store at room temperature in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of reach of children and do not use after the expiry date.
## Important Safety Information
Monitor your blood glucose as advised and continue your recommended diet and exercise. Do not stop or change treatment without consulting your doctor. If you miss a dose, follow your doctor's instructions and do not take an extra dose to compensate.
