What is it used for?
Diclofenac prolonged-release tablets are used to relieve pain and inflammation, especially in arthritis and other muscle, joint and bone conditions.

How does it work?
Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It reduces the substances in the body that cause pain, swelling and inflammation.

How to take/use it
Take only as prescribed. Swallow the tablet whole with water, preferably with or after food. Do not crush, chew or split the prolonged-release tablet. Do not take it with other diclofenac or NSAID medicines unless advised by a doctor.

Common side effects
Indigestion, stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, dizziness and skin rash may occur.

Precautions
Tell the doctor about any history of stomach ulcer or bleeding, asthma triggered by painkillers, high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney or liver problems. Seek urgent medical help for black stools, vomiting blood, severe stomach pain, chest pain, breathing difficulty or facial swelling. Avoid use in the last 3 months of pregnancy; ask a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Diclofenac may interact with blood thinners, steroids, some blood-pressure medicines and other NSAIDs.
